Still dreaming about what you want to do, be, have in your life this year?

These three simple elements will get you where you really want to go much faster!

DESIGN

Design your dream life. Have a clear and compelling vision for what you truly want to bring into your life. Give yourself permission to dream big and really go for it.

Know WHY you want to get there and write that down so you can remind yourself everyday, especially when the way seems bumpy. Detail what it will look like and feel like when you have reached your dream destination. Write that down too!

You can also make a vision board with beautiful pictures that bring you an emotional charge when you look at them. Or turn it into a mind movie with images and statements about what you desire and how you will feel when that is your real life experience.

ALIGN

Align your plan to your vision.  Now that you have a clear vision that juices you up, make sure you have a plan to get there.

You don’t have to know every step along the way in detail yet. Just have a big strategic plan of the main things to do to make sure you arrive at your destination. This is more of a directional overview.

Think of how you plan a trip. When you look at a map, you determine your starting and ending points. From there you examine various routes and decide on which one makes the most sense for you. You decide to either take the most direct route or the scenic route, or to make a couple stops along the way to visit friends or stop at a place you always wanted to visit, and so on.

Along the way, there will be course corrections. You may find you are off-track and need to get back to where you intended to go. Or you may decide to change the route a bit, as it makes more sense to take a different way to your intended destination. Whatever happens, expect a few bumps and don’t let it distract you from the reason you are on that road to begin with.

ACT

Take inspired action. These are the daily steps and decisions you make to keep you moving in the right direction. You don’t have to have every single step mapped out when you begin. The most important thing is to know WHAT’S NEXT. Keep your eye on your goal and take the next most important logical or intuitive step that will get you there.

Don’t try to bite off too much at a time, or you could get discouraged, weary, or overwhelmed. Remember, this isn’t a race. It is just a wonderful place you want to get to and certainly will, as you keep taking the next step and the next. Know that half the fun is experiencing the daily sights and learning experiences on the path to getting there, as well as the anticipation of your soon arrival!
