Streams of Living Water

Sometimes when you have been running at top speed for a while, or things come at you hard and fast, it’s important to take some time to decompress, to be quiet and allow your body and soul to re-create itself.
Nothing is as refreshing as the sounds of water – or a drink of pure water when you’re so thirsty – or a long shower to wipe away the dirt and grime of the day, as it relaxes and freshens up your body.
That’s why our Father God wants us to regularly take time to connect with him for a soul-washing and spirit-refreshing time. He beckons us as the Shepherd to walk to the “still waters” and to “be still and know that I am God.”
The payoff can be “fountains of blessings” that come pouring into your life in an even greater way. And the “runoff” from those blessings will touch and bless others as you go about your daily life dripping blessings on everyone.
Most important is to remember that Jesus offers Living Water for your soul. Remind yourself of the story and his benefits here.
If you’re feeling a little dry and dusty and travel-worn, refresh your soul and spirit with these passages from the heart of God for you today:
I will open rivers in desolate heights, And fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, And the dry land springs of water. – Is. 41:18
The beast of the field will honor Me, The jackals and the ostriches, Because I give waters in the wilderness And rivers in the desert, To give drink to My people, My chosen. – Is. 43:20
He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” – John 7:38
“For the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” – Rev. 7:17

No matter what is going on in your life, regular times of spiritual renew and refreshment are vital to maintain your mental, emotional, spiritual and physical health. So make it a habit to carve out some down time to just be quiet and let God refresh your body, mind and spirit with his love, peace, and joy.
REMINDER: You can start right now by reading and reflecting on the passages above and asking your Heavenly Father to refresh and fill you to the brim and overflowing with his Spirit and love! This is truly “the pause that refreshes.”
