Tasty Treats From God’s Heart To Yours

This is the season where there are so many tasty treats served in people’s homes, at parties and events, and even in stores and public places to welcome you.

All the cooking shows and special guest features seem to be around holiday baking and feasting on the latest trendy goodies.

It’s easy to get caught up in all the activities and wonderful social opportunities this time of year. But if you don’t have those opportunities or people to connect to, or if you seem to have more “busy” than time, you could be feeling a little empty or dry. Or maybe you’re a little hungry, longing for some “soul food” to fill you back up with something substantial to nourish your spirit.

Whatever your situation, you only have to look up to see a welcoming Hand offering special delights custom made for you from the Lover of Your Soul, God Himself. He invites you to come spend some time feasting on all the wonderful treats he has in store for you. When you take time to feast on his Word, to partake of the bread and wine of who Jesus is and what he did for you in the past so you could live fully in the present, you are savoring his special culinary creations for you.

His words to you are like honey – so sweet and healthful to both your palate and your soul, to bring you both delight and a satisfied appetite. He desires you to enjoy the nourishment, as he feeds you his sweet words of love.

So whether you’re connecting with those you love this season, or missing those from the past, trust that God has some unique recipes to fatten your soul this year, this season – and today. You only have to say “Thank you!” and receive them. They are there for the feasting. It is totally your choice to indulge!

Here are a couple of tastings to get your feast started:

  1. “Taste and see that the Lord is good!” – Psalm 34:8
Click to read this verse plus the whole chapter online.
This is The Message translation, but you can change it to any version you like. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how relevant and eye-opening it is in this version. It might even bless your socks off!
  2. Listen to this verse in the lovely song below and let your spirit be fed and watered with new refreshing.

May you choose Life and Blessings this season and in the new year – both to receive and be filled up first, then to give forth out of the overflow to others, as a sweet fragrance of love and grace wherever you go.

When you do, perhaps others will start to think of you as God’s most fragrant Gingerbread cookies! Okay – maybe not, but by now you may realize that the fragrance of whatever you let into your life goes everywhere with you. Be that sweet and savory treat that people love to be around! 😉 Pass that great smile on to someone and make their day too!
